Description

The maxi-single «Challenger», and with it another maxi-single — «Finally / Requiem», released on the same day — December 4, 1997, were born in the process of studio work when arranging and recording compositions by Andrey Klimkovsky, written under the impression the crash of the American spacecraft «Challenger» on January 28, 1986 — it was in that era that these melodies were written, and later, for more than ten years, the composer returned to them and created a variety of versions of their embodiment.

Working on an album is always a quest, during which some previously discovered, and undoubtedly very interesting, ideas and solutions don't fit together within the overall album concept, but are fascinating to listen to separately or when unrelated. The maxi-single «Challenger» is composed of precisely these "creative wastes." It includes experimental and more extensive thematic tracks that could never have been included on the album, but are of considerable interest to electronic music enthusiasts.
