«Spherical Live» summarizes the composer's two-year work on the «Music of Celestial Spheres» cycle, incorporating the best of his first four albums: «From dusk till dawn», «Birth, life and death», «On the outskirts of the Galaxy», «Under the starry sky of Spain». But it cannot be considered an ordinary collection of hits — each composition in this album sounds in a new way, unexpectedly bright, creating the atmosphere that always reigns at the concerts of Andrey Klimkovsky, filled with music of stars, the speed of space flights, Fantastic panoramas and images of universal worlds in video projections, maddening effects of analog synthesizers and effect processors, virtuosity of performance and slight negligence, kindness and light sadness.
For connoisseurs and fans of Andrey Klimkovsky's creativity, the release of this album is a pleasant surprise. Only here you can find «Drama» melody performed at almost every concert, but not included in any album. They will also be pleased with the new unexpected versions of the compositions «Calling distances», «Full of stars the abyss opened», and the full version of «Sombrero» / Spiral Galaxy RMX /.
The release date of the album almost coincided with the composer's thirtieth birthday and fifteen years of his musical and space exploration. Of course, in one disc it is impossible to reflect everything that has been done during this time, especially since most of the cycle is still ahead — in the future.
The cycle «Music of Celestial Spheres», which appeared two years ago, as it seemed to me then, by chance — for no apparent reason, imperceptibly took the main place in my musical activity. And now most of the concerts that I give — at various concert venues — from huge cinemas to modest libraries, bear the same name. The cycle gave me a huge repertoire that does not fit into the framework of a single concert, all the more so the length of a CD is short for it.
Choosing the material for this album, I put in accordance with each composition the reaction of the audience to it. On the other hand, I wanted the program of this album not to repeat either the sequence or the sound of any of the four parts of the «Music of Celestial Spheres» cycle, and contain something new and unexpected. So in the album «Spherical Live» was the play «Drama», written long before the birth of the cycle itself, but took root in my concerts. I had to fulfill the request of numerous and dear listeners to include «Drama» in the program of at least some album, so that it could be heard not only at concerts.
And now you are holding in your hands the result of more than two years of work on the musical images of the Universe. I hope this album will give you pleasure and like those “space inhabitants” to whom I dedicated one or another melody. Indeed, from a distant and vast outer space, they hear everything that you listen to on Earth.
