Description
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. And this step is not always visible. It is sometimes very difficult to find the source of even the most full-flowing rivers on our planet. This is a mysterious place where a silent stream oozes from the ground, hiding in forests or on hard-to-reach mountain slopes. Drop by drop, the river begins its journey, but it is already impossible to stop or turn it back.
And most often, the most grandiose and fantastic achievements began timidly, without loud promises. History misses these precious moments, because no one is ready to capture them. And when the stream gains strength, then everyone who previously did not attach importance to it strives to join it.
No one remembers the name of the man who first looked at the sky and noticed the stars there, tried to sketch their locations, and gave the stars their first names. At that time it had no practical application, but the amazing desire of people to understand the unknown carried us further and further along the Star River.
Now we see how fast it is, we understand that once we plunge into it, we will no longer be able to leave the flow of its turbulent waters. And it is not even that we need something in Space, or that it is cramped on Earth. It is just that the Universe needs us and it calls us with all the forces available to it - through romance, dreams, necessity. Perhaps that is why all cosmic images are so attractive to us, and cosmic needs are inevitable. And, we can say that the Star River of knowledge of the Universe is our destiny.
There is another allegory of the Star River - the spiral arms of the Milky Way, along which all the stars of the Galaxy fly at great speed. In this space age, we are accustomed to astronomical figures, but even we are amazed by the scale of this flow. Think about it: hundreds of billions of stars are flying at a speed of hundreds of kilometers per second - such speed is not yet available to earthly ships. But I am sure that the time will come and we will rush into this flow no longer afraid of losing our native shore, because by that time our entire Galaxy will become close and dear.
But everything that has a beginning has an end, even if the Universe is infinite. And someday the star streams of the Milky Way will disperse in boundless space, merging into the boundless Star Ocean - it is our goal. In thousands or millions of years, our distant descendants will become citizens of the Metagalaxy. And only fragmentary data in their information carriers - it is now difficult to imagine which ones - will store unclear information about the Earth - the planet from which we took the first step. And, of course, no one will clearly remember how it was.
The album «StarRiver» was recorded from autumn 2017 to spring 2018, and is dedicated to the inexhaustible desire of Mankind for the Stars. It is impossible to overestimate this phenomenon and now we cannot imagine life without many space technologies. And how many more amazing gifts the Universe will give us! But once it all began with romance and myths about constellations.
