The molecules and atoms of which we are made were born in the bowels of dead stars. Not only we, but everything that surrounds us is the matter given to the Universe by the stars that no longer exist. Even our planet — Earth — consists of material that was thrown out by a star at the time of its death throes.
It is difficult to imagine how many hundreds or maybe thousands of light years these atoms flew in outer space — perhaps they crossed our entire Galaxy before they met another star that managed to capture them, form planets from this substance, on one of which life arose ...
No one can say for sure — we — humans — are a side effect of this long process, or its purpose. But if you approach the question philosophically, the links become connected in a chain:
The star has fulfilled its mission — it has enriched the universe with the widest range of chemical elements. The atoms and molecules ejected by the star traveled for billions of years across the Galaxy in the form of a beautiful nebula, until they found a new home, giving it life — they also completed their mission.
Now we are holding the roadmap in our hands. We also have to do something. We also have our own space mission — having got stronger and matured, we will step on the interstellar highways of the future in order to transfer our experience and knowledge, our technologies to the planets around other stars.
Nobody of us yet knows the details of what lies ahead. But I want to believe that our mission will become interstellar. And if molecules and atoms have succeeded — to cross interstellar space, then we will succeed.
The musical material of the album «Interstellar Mission» was written by Andrey Klimkovsky in different years. For the first time, its basis sounded at the «Interstellar Live» at the Museum of the Earth History in 2007, but was not released as a studio album. Over time, new works were added to this program. Part of the material was made available as an unofficial bootleg «Interstellar Music». In 2021 composer having significantly revised these tunes and completed work on an album, which he devoted to the issues of the universal destiny of mankind.
